Winemaking Process: Made from the grapes grown Quinta Santa Eufêmia, this 40 Year Old Aged Tawny Port is very rare an unique. Quinta Santa Eufemia only made small quantities of this wine that it is the result of decades of evaporation and ageing in wood. During this period the wine was concentrated to an essence, producing intense and complex very dense and concentrate aromas and flavours of nutty and spicy. In palate full of rich mellow flavour, roasted coffee and an intense nuttiness.
This very rare wine was produced using the traditional blend grapes from Quinta Santa Eufemia, were trodden by foot to obtain the must, then during fermentation were in lagares, the traditional stone vats from the Quinta.
Quinta Eufemia 40 year old Tawny is a blend of old Ports from different vintages, matured in oak casks all their life and with an average age of 40 years.
Tasting notes: Colour: rich dark brown hue with wonderful green and yellow hints around the edges, characteristic of very old wood-aged Ports.
Recommendations: Is wonderful as a digestive wine is celebrated as the ideal port to accompany dessert (nuts, chocolate) or be enjoyed in the company of good company.
