Duas Quintas white 75cl

Tasting Notes: A citrine colour with good aromatic intensity. Dominated by acacia flowers and ripe fruit flavours, especially peach and pear with hints of spices. In the mouth, it comes with breadth, has a lot of freshness and citrus flavours appear. Flavourful and persistent.

Wine Region: Duas Quintas is a white wine from the Upper Douro, more specifically from Quinta de Ervamoira (150m altitude) and Quinta dos Bons Ares (600m altitude) hence the name 'Duas Quintas'. It is a blend of traditional Douro grape varieties that express the potential of this most extreme region.

Harvest Report: 2011 had a hot spring that started the growing season quite early. The earliest harvest in the history of Ramos Pinto, starting on 2nd August at Quinta de Ervamoira and 23rd August at Quinta dos Bons Ares. The white grapes possessed good acidity and the sugar content was not too high.

Winemaking Process: Hand picked grapes were vinified separately in small batches. The must was obtained by direct pressing after cold maceration. The clean must was fermented in stainless steel vats at a low temperature and 10% was fermented in French oak casks. The wine was bottled in February 2012.

Food Matching: Serve as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to salads, seafood, chicken, or pork. Ideal with dishes like seafood risotto and fish stew.

Recommendations: To be served at 16-18 ºC
